Her paintings capture the essence of her subjects without being finely detailed and are characterized by formal composition and vivid colors, conveying the inner strength and spiritual qualities of her subjects by the use of mass and color. She lived in California for many years, painting landscapes and beach scenes, and since she retired and moved to New Mexico, her subjects have expanded to include churches, southwest landscapes, Native American dancers, and cliff dwellings.
